Agreed.... we had shit league seasons in 75 and 80... and an even worse one in 76 when we reached the ECWC final... funny how we remember them more than just a normal run of the mill finish in the top half of the table season... fuck the league... cups is where its at

Re: All you Moyes haters, move on, nothing to see here.
There is a chance that the football might improve.

In his interview, Moyes reckoned that he'd tried to improve the football, it hadn't worked and he'd gone back to what he knows to get us out of the shit.

Might just try to improve the football next season (he WILL be here next season if we win the trophy and don't suffer a freak relegation), but with better results

Very quiet on here today.

Let's face it, he' staying innit. He was talking about next season after the game, so I reckon Sullivan has already told him, win or lose in Prague.

He’s staying, great achievement to get to a Euro final but another season of anti-football to watch it would appear

The time for you folk with no self respect to lick Moyes' fuckin arsehole is when he actually wins something. Something he has so far failed to do in his entire career.

Sullivan and the Golds will not be shouldering his severance cost and new manager appointment costs - that is for the next guy to sort out after that sale.

New owners new decisions.

If he approaches the final the way he did the semi we won’t be winning anything.

Why would anyone post this after last night FFS.

We're all behind the time until the final whistle in the final.

After which it's back to what is best for the club and hopefully new owners and a new direction.

I'd still get rid of Moyes even if we win the whole thing

The football is dogshit, we play to not have control of the football, I can't get behind that next season with the squad we have in place. We are in the final despite Moyes not because of him.

Lets see if he manages to win it as apart from Man Utd at home we haven't beat a decent outfit all season. Fiorentina have been scoring for fun away from home in the knockouts so over to you Moyseh!

Also yet again what did he say to the team at HT? Came out shit for the first 5 mins. Sat back, happy to soak up pressure hoping they dont score. But if we do...... then we know we're shit at breaking teams down. Fucking bonkers set up

He has to leave regardless. He has sacked the soul put of the club. As you claim we are all moyes haters, you have to accept then that you are a moyes lover

Let’s actually win the cup first before posting threads like this. It will just give the usual suspects that are always very quiet on here after a win an opportunity to rub it in if we do lose the final.

We have still had a bad season and haven’t won anything yet. Moyes probably isn’t the man to take us forward next season and quite rightly a lot of our fans would prefer more style from the team.

Let’s just enjoy last night for a bit rather than argue among each other about the manager.

We already know this but some posters on here are genuinely annoyed when we win. After reaching our first European final in nearly 50 years this is what Keep dreaming posted:

“Hurray……Imagine playing so shit and reach a final. Fantastic I suppose…..”

Re: All you Moyes haters, move on, nothing to see here.
We should win the final. Fiorentina are 10th in a pretty ordinary Serie A which Napoli - a good but not great team - won at a canter.
One thing I will say on Moyes, I'm not sure I've ever seen a series of post match interviews where players have talked so little about the role of the manager. More talk about Noble than Moyes.

Re: All you Moyes haters, move on, nothing to see here.
The football will get better if they keep him on as players learn to expand the limits of his restrictive system - it already has and we are seeing how they are doing it. Brilliantly talented individuals like Rice, Paqueta and Fornals are taking it on their shoulders to play their way, and the rest, out of the negativity straitjacket that is the Moyes way. He will still stalk the sideline waving them all back like he has done every game, and they will increasingly play the football they enjoy. This will make us quite unpredictable and tough to handle so, while it could all be so much better, I think next season with Moyes is going to be OK.

Re: All you Moyes haters, move on, nothing to see here.

There is an Italian team in each of the three European finals.
There were two Italian teams in the semi-finals of the Champions League & the Europa League.
Not sure I'd buy into the Serie A is weak narrative.
Watched the end of the Fiorentina v Basel game & the Italians were much the better side.

West Ham are slight favourites for the final.

Re: All you Moyes haters, move on, nothing to see here.
The thing I don't understand is how can the team play as well as we did against Manure & Arsenal, yet we play so crap in the 1st leg & yesterday - with the same players.

It can only be down to the way Moyes sets up the team. There was a couple of times last night, midway through the 2nd half where Rice surged forward, head up, looking for options, and ripped thru Alkmaar pushing them back to their own box.

They had no answer to him. When Paq went on his runs they had no answer (other than to foul him) to him either.

So why did Moyes shackle Rice as a 3rd centre back all game when the lad has so much talent?

Against Alkmaar?

Why does Moyes shackle the entire team instead of letting them play ie Manure & Arsenal? Whats he so afraid of?

Surely he won't go into the final as negatively as last night? How the fuck do we win against a side much better than AZ playing like that?

And thats why I want him out. I applaud what he's done but he's incapable of making us a better footballing side and with the players we have what a waste of talent that is.

In addition - with Rice gone next year, we need a manager who can get the best out of this squad and recruit additional players to enhance it. Moyes has proved time and again he simply cannot do that.

If he manages to win it for us bravo and good for him, but we need to replace him to play better football.

Surely thats what we all want isn't it?

Fiorentina also have the Coppa Italia final on 24th May v Inter.

Re: All you Moyes haters, move on, nothing to see here.
Yarm

Moyes is a defence first manager. People used to love Italian football in part because of this aspect of their game. He did what he thought we needed to do to get to the final after the disappointment of last year and succeeded. If you achieve what you set out to do you can only be happy with that.
